Ashley & Brian’s Aruba Getaway
Ashley and Brian just returned from a vacation in Aruba—soaking up the sun, relaxing on stunning beaches, and, most importantly, enjoying it all gluten-free.
When Ashley first reached out, she was looking for a relaxing vacation where she didn’t have to worry about food. With celiac disease and also being dairy-free, she wanted a destination that could offer both delicious meals and peace of mind.
We worked closely together to find the perfect fit, and Aruba delivered. From the moment they arrived, they were welcomed by the island’s warm hospitality, colorful culture, and plenty of safe, flavorful dining options.
Helping them plan this trip was such a joy, and knowing they were able to fully relax and indulge without stress is exactly why I love what I do.

Why did you choose Aruba for your vacation?
Thanks to Ellen at Gluten-free Vacations, she suggested my resort to keep me safe with my dietary restrictions and to give us all of our vacation wants, including beach time and tour time!
One of the reasons we love the resort Ashley and Brian chose: it sits on a wide, beautiful beach—and guests can reserve complimentary beach umbrellas the day before, making it easy to relax in the shade without the stress.
What were your favorite activities in Aruba?
We loved the resort, there was everything you could wish for! We had the luxury of laying out on the quiet beach, which was included in the resort area, and every wish was taken care of. As a celiac person, it was such a luxury to be able to eat and not worry, knowing you were taken care of. We did have a couple of days of excursions off the resort, including swimming with the turtles and the jeep Safari land tour. It had the perfect mix of relaxation and sightseeing!
What was your most memorable moment on vacation?
I snorkeled with the turtles for the first time in my life, it was so memorable and magical!
What were some of your favorite gluten-free meals?
My favorite thing at the resort was the sweet potato fries. They went to the trouble of cleaning out the fryer and making it safe for me! I also enjoyed eating at breakfast every day, pancakes or waffles, and bacon! Such a treat!
What was your experience using Gluten-free Vacations?
Ellen was fantastic and made everything easy and digestible! I didn’t have to worry about a thing, and Ellen took care of it all!
Thank you, Ashley and Brian for sharing your trip with us!
Here are just a few of the reasons why we love Aruba!
Consistently Sunny Weather – Aruba boasts year-round sunshine and low rainfall, making it perfect for beach lovers.
Beautiful Beaches – From Eagle Beach to Palm Beach, Aruba’s coastline is known for soft white sand and clear turquoise water.
Low Risk for Hurricanes – Located outside the hurricane belt, Aruba is a more reliable choice for tropical travel.
Easy to Get Around – Aruba is a small, easy-to-navigate island, and I highly recommend renting a car to make the most of your stay. For gluten-free travelers, this also means quick access to local grocery stores where you can stock up on safe snacks and essentials.
Great Dining Scene – A wide variety of restaurants, from beach bars to fine dining, many of which accommodate food allergies and preferences. Work with us and we’ll provide a list of recommended restaurants for gluten-free travelers.
Adventure Activities – From snorkeling and scuba diving to ATV tours and windsurfing, there’s something for every adventurer.
Unique Desert Landscape – Beyond the beaches, Aruba’s cactus-studded terrain and Arikok National Park offer a scenic contrast.
U.S. Customs Preclearance – Travelers returning to the U.S. can go through customs in Aruba, making arrival at home much smoother.
